LAVO | Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar in Singapore | Takeaway

We wanted to try the pizza and pasta at Lavo in Marina Bay Sands during our staycation. It was hard to book seats though, but we found out you can order takeaway if you're a guest at the hotel. We ordered early and got our food in just an hour. 

We just got pizza and pasta. Got the carne pizza and rigatoni melanzana. Sweetie liked both the pizza and pasta, but I found the pizza a bit too salty. I ended up just picking on the prosciutto hehe. 

After our swim we passed by Lavo. By 9pm it's quite quiet and you can probably grab a seat already by that time. That's what their staff told us when we inquired about booking a seat. We're glad though we found out about the takeaway option when we were browsing through the hotel resto pages.

Maybe next time we'll try to reserve early and get a sit in the restaurant. What about you? Have you tried Lavo?

Bistro Ravioli

It was Jay who introduced me to the wonderful, yummy world of ravioli eating! I had my doubts, but when we finally found the location of Bistro Ravioli at SM Mall of Asia we dropped other plans and immediately dined in.

Bistro Ravioli offers fresh pasta, brick over baked pizza and ravioli (no rice dishes at all). You can also watch their chef prepare your food by the resto window. I was transfixed watching the pizza being swirled by the chef. We've eaten at bistro ravioli several times and here's some stuff we tried:

All the dishes we tried were sumptuous and filling and you can share most of it. They also have family sizes. We haven't tried the pesto dishes, I heard that it's one of the most ordered from their menu.

Chi's Brick Oven Kitchen

More often than not the yummiest food nooks are the best kept secrets. I finally uncovered one in the South when a couple of high school classmates decided to have a last-minute mini-reunion for our student council president who arrived from the US.

Chi's Brick Oven Kitchen is located at Aguirre Avenue in BF Homes, Paranaque. It's a bit farther in from the commercial area in BF but very easy to find (2 stoplights + Monterey and you're there!). Sweetie was quite dazed from the trip coz he came all the way from Marikina, but he said the trek was worth it.

As described by the resto's name, most (if not all) the food are cooked through the brick oven. It takes awhile for the food to be served because everything is prepared fresh, but the wait is worth it. Here's what we had:
